Am I eligible for Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage?

You are eligible to enroll in a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan if you are entitled to Medicare Part A and/or enrolled in Part B.

In addition, you must be:

  • Age 65 or older, or
  • Under age 65 with qualifying disabilities, or
  • Have been diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring a kidney transplant or dialysis, also written as ESRD).

You may choose a stand-alone prescription drug plan or prescription drug coverage offered with a Medicare Advantage plan, but you may only be enrolled in one Medicare prescription drug plan at a time. Those who have Medicare prescription drug coverage eligibility must enroll in a plan during a proper Election period.
