Who is eligible for
Medicare Part D?

In most cases, you are eligible for Medicare Part D if:

  • You are eligible for Medicare and you are enrolled in either Medicare Part A or Medicare Part B.
  • You are eligible at any age with certain disabilities including:
    • A disability for which you have been receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) for more than 24 months.
    • End-stage renal disease.
    • ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, for which you are receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits.

Eligibility for Blue MedicareRx (PDP)

To qualify for a Blue MedicareRx (PDP) plan, you must permanently reside in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Vermont. You may only enroll in one Medicare Part D plan at a time. That means you cannot be enrolled in another Medicare Part D prescription drug plan or Medicare Advantage plan with Part D coverage.
